Kilmar Abrego Garcia's lawyers have asked a federal judge in Tennessee to delay his release from jail because of “contradictory statements” by President Donald Trump's administration over whether he’ll be deported upon release.

Just days after winning court-ordered release from criminal detention, Kilmar Abrego Garcia is pleading with a judge to keep him incarcerated — because of conflicting statements by the Trump administration about whether it will try to quickly deport him upon release.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the man the Trump administration mistakenly deported to El Salvador and who was returned to the United States to be charged with federal crimes, will remain in custody until at least Friday.
