A GP has told the BBC that patients have already enquiring about prescriptions for the "game changer" weight loss drug Mounjaro, after it became available at surgeries in England earlier this week. Dr Rachel Ward,

“The medication comes with a patient information leaflet listing common side effects, including feeling sick, indigestion, constipation, and diarrhoea. There can be some more serious side effects, such as low blood sugar, gallstones and inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis).

But as of today, Monday, June 23, GPs in England will be able to prescribe weight loss jabs for the first time on the NHS, as the health service begins its mass rollout. Some 220,000 people with the "greatest need" are expected to receive Mounjaro, made by pharmaceutical company Lilly, through the NHS over the next three years.
