Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl might have tied his future to how his move for former Liverpool winger Luis Díaz plays out, but it is very clear that he believes that the Colombian is the missing link in the team’s attack.

Maxi Urruti, and Luis Diaz, two offseason additions for the team, were waived on Thursday after combining for 39 appearances this season. Both Urruti, 34, and Diaz, 26, had played under Revs coach Caleb Porter at his previous positions in Portland and Columbus.

Diaz’s father, Luis Manuel Diaz, has been held since Saturday when he and his wife, Cilenis Marulanda, were kidnapped by armed men on motorcycles at a gas station in Barrancas.

Instead, Luis Manuel recovered at home, watching as Diaz entered as a late substitute in the 3-0 home victory. They will travel to Merseyside after the international break.

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl is confident that the new-look attack following Luis Diaz's arrival is up there with the best in Europe.
