The United Way and a Fort Worth nonprofit have teamed up to raise money for 834 people displaced in an six-alarm apartment fire Monday. A large fire ignited inside the The Cooper apartment complex in Fort Worth around 1:30 p.m. while some residents were still inside, said Craig Trojacek, a spokesperson for the Fort Worth Fire Department.

Hundreds of residents displaced by the massive fire at Fort Worth’s Cooper Apartments are still waiting for answers. Many say management has been unresponsive about rent refunds, lease options, and when — or if — they can return.
