Rio Ferdinand has called for patience with Arsenal ’s new signing, Viktor Gyokeres. The Swedish striker, who joined from Sporting CP in a £64million deal, was handed a start in Arsenal’s Premier League opener at Old Trafford.

But Carragher believes that the 27-year-old may soon find himself starting from the bench, with the former Liverpool defender tipping Kai Havertz to make a return to the starting XI for the trip to Anfield the week after. ‘If I’m being honest, I think they will go back to Havertz in the big games,’ Carragher said on Sky Sports.
