Trenton native Jamir Watkins headed to Washington after being selected in second round of NBA Draft
Jamir Watkins, the former Trenton Catholic Academy standout and Trentonian Area Player of the Year, was selected by the Utah Jazz with the 43rd overall pick and then traded to the Washington Wizards on Thursday night. His selection came one day after the champion Oklahoma City Thunder took Thomas Sorber with the 15th pick.

The Washington Wizards have selected Will Riley with the No. 21 pick in the 2025 NBA draft. Riley was named Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year in 2025.
