Mikayla Raines, the force behind the Minnesota-based Save A Fox rescue who found fame on YouTube for her devotion to helping animals, has died by suicide at 29, according to her husband.

Mikayla Raines, an animal rescuer who shared her work on YouTube, has died by suicide, her husband Ethan Frankamp shared on Monday. In a nearly 12-minute video titled, "An unimaginable loss for the rescue," Ethan Frankamp said Raines died by suicide as a result of mental illness and harassment she faced online.

Last week, animal activist and wildlife rehabilitator Mikayla Raines — who rose to prominence through her Minnesota-based rescue organization, Save a Fox, and its accompanying YouTube channel — died by suicide at the age of 29.
