For first-time director Maggie Kang (head of story on “The Lego Ninjago Movie”), “KPop: Demon Hunters” represents the fulfillment of a 20-year desire to make an animated movie about Korean culture. But what began as an exploration of demonology evolved into an explosive mashup of action and K-pop.

Hong and Ji-young Yoo told UPI their animated film, "KPop Demon Hunters," on Netflix Friday, was even better than they imagined thanks to the animation and music.
