Raleigh hits MLB-leading 46th homer and sparks five-run seventh as Mariners outslug Mets 11-9
Cal Raleigh hit his major league-leading 46th homer, sparked a five-run seventh inning with his first double in over a month and the Seattle Mariners set a team record with nine doubles to beat the skidding New York Mets 11-9 on Friday night.
Seattle Mariners Starting Pitcher Bryan Woo continued his great streak this afternoon on the road against the New York Mets. He surrendered one earned run over six innings of work and punched out eight.
Francisco Lindor gave the struggling Mets a spark against the Mariners while making history with his fifth 20/20 season.
Fittingly, given the Mariners are currently hanging out in Queens, the last man to do it was Hall of Famer Mike Piazza, according to Seattle's PR team. Piazza actually did it five seasons in a row, from 1996 through 2000. Raleigh currently leads the league in RBI with his 100, and he's got a month-and-a-half to add to the total.
Bring back Eugenio Suarez? Bring back Josh Naylor? Extend Randy Arozarena? What should Seattle be looking to do?
