Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has thanked his teammates, Liverpool’s players and the soccer community as a whole for the “overwhelming messages of support” he received after reporting that he was racially abused by a fan during the Premier League’s season opener at Anfield.
Anthony Gordon, a boyhood scouser who came close to joining Liverpool last summer, admitted that the atmosphere could be electric. He told TNT Sports: “I think with everything that’s gone on the atmosphere is going to be a bit wild. It’s gonna be a top game.”
