Manchester United are considering making a move for a young England star as an alternative to Carlos Baleba, according to reports. And Rio Ferdinand believes the ‘Michael Carrick-esque’ player would be a great signing for his former club.
Brighton are keen to keep hold of Baleba, who is under contract until 2028 with the option of a further 12 months, and warned United it would take a fee around the £115 million ($156 million) Chelsea paid to sign Moisés Caicedo two years ago to get a deal for Baleba over the line.
Manchester United have been chasing Carlos Baleba, but so far, they have not made any progress. Looking to strengthen their midfield, the Red Devils had placed Carlos Baleba at the top of their list.
Andre Onana was among players to react to Carlos Baleba's latest message amid rumours about a potential move to Man United.
Brighton, meanwhile, are not interested in parting ways with the Cameroonian star and have estimated him at £100m ($135m) in order to block potential offers. Despite the hefty price tag, Man United’s reported interest in Baleba continues to prevail.
Fabian Hurzeler said he is extremely confident that Carlos Baleba will remain with Brighton this season despite heavy interest from Manchester United. After big spending on revitalising their attacking options, United have now turned their attention to bolstering their midfield, with Baleba emerging as a top target.
During the pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Fulham, Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler expressed his confidence about his protégé's future.
